CBN Sets Sights on ZPTC & MPTC Clean Sweep

Chandrababu targets ZPTC and MPTC polls

The municipal election victory has given Chandrababu Naidu fresh confidence. But the Chief Minister is not looking to celebrate for long. With ZPTC and MPTC elections scheduled for Thursday, he has already shifted his attention to the next electoral challenge.

In a meeting with key NDA leaders, Chandrababu made it clear that the alliance should aim for another strong performance. He asked TDP, Jana Sena and BJP leaders to work together and ensure that there are no internal differences at the grassroots level. The target is to win as many ZPTC and MPTC seats as possible and establish the alliance’s dominance in rural Andhra Pradesh.

The 94 per cent strike rate in municipal elections has given the NDA a strong starting point. Chandrababu credited the victory to the government’s welfare and development work. He told party leaders that people had supported the alliance because they could see the difference in governance.

He also asked leaders not to allow local rivalries to affect the alliance. Candidates from all three parties must be treated as alliance candidates rather than competitors. He assured that whose who missed out on electoral opportunities would be considered for nominated posts.

Chandrababu also reminded leaders that the government’s work on Amaravati, Polavaram, Veligonda and road infrastructure should reach people. He said the administration was focused on resolving public problems and would continue correcting shortcomings wherever necessary.

For Chandrababu, the municipal results are more than an electoral victory. They have given the NDA an opportunity to strengthen its position beyond urban centres. The immediate challenge is to carry that advantage into rural politics. Thursday’s ZPTC and MPTC elections will be the next test of the alliance’s strength.
