Chevireddy’s Bail Petition Dismissed Again!

Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, also known as A38 in the Rs 3,200 crore AP liquor scam, faced another setback as the Vijayawada ACB Court dismissed his bail petition. This is not the first time his request for bail has been rejected, adding to his legal troubles.

Recently, other accused in the same case such as Dhanunjaya Reddy, Krishnamohan Reddy, and Balaji Govindappa were granted bail, raising hopes for Chevireddy’s legal team. However, the court took a different stand in his case.

Chevireddy was arrested by the SIT at Bengaluru airport while allegedly attempting to leave the country. He was then brought to Vijayawada and placed in custody. The former two-time MLA from Chandragiri also contested unsuccessfully for the Ongole Parliamentary seat in 2024.

According to the SIT, Chevireddy played a crucial role in routing Rs 250 crore liquor kickback money through A1 Raj Kasireddy to fund the 2024 elections. His lawyers argued that he has health complications and no involvement in the alleged money trail. On the other hand, prosecution lawyers maintained that evidence clearly links Chevireddy to the scam and granting bail at this stage could allow him to influence witnesses.

After hearing both sides, the ACB Court dismissed his bail petition once again, extending his stay in custody.
