The victim, a resident of Jiaguda in Hyderabad, told the commission their engagement has happened in November 2019 in a grand ceremony in their village. An agreement was reached for a dowry of Rs 5 lakh before the marriage. The victim alleged that Sasikumar demanded Rs 10 lakh in cash and 20 tulas of gold later.
While all this was going on, Sasikumar had married another girl on August 26, 2021. She lodged a complaint at the Kulsumpura police station in Hyderabad and Nagarkurnool police stations. The police did not take the complaint seriously, the victim alleges. The victim pleaded with the commission to do her justice.
Meanwhile, Kulsumpura police on Friday registered a case against Sasikumar (27) following a complaint lodged by the victim.
