Cockfights goes to online Websites!

The traditional Cock fights in the villages during Sankranthi season have now gone online. Despite being a rural betting game, the cock fights continue to attract Urban Crowd too. Some of the online buying and selling websites like Olx and Quikr are being used as a platform to sell specially breeded roosters for playing the game.

The price of roosters are ranging from 5000 to 50000 depending on fur colour, shape of tail, strength of legs, ability to swim and strike at the enemy. The buyer and seller reach out to an amicable price and later meet at a ‘safe location’ to complete the transaction.

Along with this, there are also provision for e-mode of betting on these cock fights. The organizers live stream the cock fights from popular places like Bhimavaram, Palacole and Dwaraka Tirumala and allow bets from interested parties where payments are accepted through credit cards and debit cards.
