Committed to Waiver, not rescheduling: KTR

Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao has reaffirmed that his government is committed in fulfilling TRS’spoll promise of loan waiver. He also clarified that they are not thinking on the lines of loans rescheduling. “We are committed to waive loans up to 1 Lakh. We are not doing rescheduling as said by some media”, KTR clarified in FICCI meeting in Hyderabad.

KTR said that clarity on this will emerge very soon and they are currently in discussions with bankers and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The budget session of Telangana will take place in the last week of August or first week of September. The TRS government is planning to announce the loan waiver before that so as to avoid trouble from opposition parties in the Assembly.
