To avoid casteism, he named children differently!

Communists are known for their battle against casteism. One communist leader Kosuri Raghava Chary of Dachepally went on to name his children after spaceships and celestial bodies. His children were named Spaceship, Viking-II, Fusion, Space shuttle, Shuttle Challenger.

Chary made sure the names have relevance to the erstwhile USSR (Russia) as the country was known to be a powerhouse of communism. He even refused to divulge the caste details to their school and these names made sure the secret is kept forever.

Chary married a dalit woman and made sure their children took her surname against the norms of the society. All the children respect their father’s decision and takes pride in having the names which advocates equality.
