Kavitha has officially been suspended from the BRS and resigned from her MLC post. With this, her political ties with KCR are broken, except for family relation. Earlier, ABN RK had reported she might join Congress, but that option seems unlikely now.
Kavitha has been openly targeting Revanth Reddy and criticising the BJP for her jail term. Both Congress and BJP have clarified they are not interested in taking her. This came as a surprise to some but not to those familiar with political strategy.
Kavitha admitted corruption in the Kaleshwaram Project but blamed Harish Rao and Santosh Rao. Congress and BJP cannot accept this version as they want KCR held accountable. Bringing her in would weaken their stand and give unnecessary advantage to KCR.
Analysts also say neither party wants to risk public sympathy for KCR by appearing to divide his family. For now, Kavitha will only be politically relevant if she can attract BRS MLAs or leaders to her side, which is not happening at present.
With no takers in Congress or BJP, Kavitha may float a new political party after the Jubilee Hills by-election. She will then face battles against all parties, including BRS, making her political journey ahead tough and highly challenging.
