Congress Govt Told to Repair Kaleshwaram Project

NDSA has directed the Telangana government to take up the repair of Medigadda which is part of Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project.

On one hand, probe is on regarding the sinking of Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla barrages that are part of the project. Following the directives, the Telangana Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has given instructions to his department to take up repairs on a priority basis.

At the same time, Reddy also divulged that his government will take up legal course on AP’s plans regarding Godavari-Banakacharla project. He said he will give a PowerPoint presentation to create awareness among people’s representatives on June 30 at Praja Bhavan.

Uttam also warned officers who don’t complete projects on time. Meanwhile, the officials shared that NDSA offered to work as a design consultant for the Kaleshwaram repair works.

The Minister said review meetings must be held on a weekly basis and the works must happen at full speed.

Uttam Kumar Reddy gave several instructions to higher officials in a meeting held at Jal Saudha.
