Congress – MIM Friendship Starts Booming?

Congress and MIM were friends with each other until the state formation. After Telangana became a reality, they parted ways with Congress and moved closer to BRS.

Even in the recent elections, Asaduddin Owaisi asked Muslims to vote for BRS candidates in the constituencies where his party is not in the fray.

The elections are over and BRS is lost. MIM was able to win the seven seats that were considered the party’s bastion. We have seen BRS MLAs like Kadiyam Srihari saying that they may even topple the Congress government with the support of the BJP and MIM MLAs.

But it looks like the Congress has become alert well in advance and has sent a ‘love letter’ to MIM.

The Congress Government has requested MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi to act as the pro-tem speaker in the 3rd Legislative Assembly of Telangana.

Akbaruddin Owaisi, an MLA since 1999 is one of the senior-most lawmakers. He has accepted the proposal to be the pro-tem speaker and will administer the oath to the newly elected MLAs on December 9th.

Probably, this is the first step of Congress and MIM becoming friends once again. MIM is always known to be opportune in the name of protecting the interests of the Minorities. So, this will not be a surprise.
