Congress Routed out of Rahul and Sonia’s Constituencies

In a massive embarrassment for the Congress Party, all its candidates of Assembly segments falling under Amethi, the constituency of Rahul Gandhi lost the election. Congress failed to win a single seat out of the five assembly constituencies under Amethi, even though Rahul Gandhi campaigned extensively.

Some constituencies under Rae Bareli also went into BJP fold. Rae Bareli is currently being represented by Congress President, Sonia Gandhi. Incidentally, Amethi and Rae Bareli were held by all Prime Ministerial Candidates from Congress – Sanjay Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

This comes as a massive disappointment for the grand old party and it indicates things are very wrong for Congress across the country. This also gives an impression that things will not be easy for Rahul and Sonia in the upcoming 2019 elections.
