Congress More Serious Than Jagan on Special Status

Congress’ Guntur Meeting on Special Status issue may not be a success in terms of the people attendance and the response for Congress’ attempt, but the meeting had a serious impact on the YSR Congress Party, the main Opposition Party in the State.

YSR Congress always thought that Special Status will be the Single Largest Agenda for 2019 Election. Jagan even conducted 2-3 meetings on the issue. But Congress’ Attempt seems to be more serious than what Jagan is doing all these days.

Congress cleverly brought Communists and other parties on board in this fight to give a serious look to the agitation. The same step if YSR Congress does would have been a political masterstroke, even though, Jagan does that now, it will never be the Original.

Opposition Unity is crucial to corner a Government. Late YSR effectively used CPI’s Nomula Narasimayya and MIM’s Owaisi to bring down Chandrababu in 2004. Jagan, however, is always operating alone and thereby losing a big chance to corner the government.
