Congress – YSR Congress nexus exposed again!

Congress Party which contested in the recent Bielection of Nandigama bagged a shameful defeat but is still eager to contest in the bielection of Tirupati. The Bielection was necessitated due to the sudden demise of sitting TDP MLA, Venkataramana and his wife Sugunamma is contesting there on TDP ticket.

It is customary for other parties not to contest when a sitting MLA passed away and his kin is contesting the bielection. But Congress seem to be violating the unwritten rule. Interestingly, Congress did not contest Allagadda Bielection which took place due to the death of YSR Congress MLA, Shoba Nagi Reddy (contested and won after death). It is interesting to note that Congress contests only in TDP sitting seats but not in YSRCP seats.

Winning there will mean Congress will have sole representation in the 175 seats Assembly and the win will also boost the confidence of the party’s cadre and leaders. But the chances look bleak. On the other side, it is said that YSR Congress may not put its candidate there.
