The Congress leadership, which has previously taken a more advisory role in confronting the BRS, is gearing up to fully engage in the political battle next month. The aim is to secure victory in the upcoming elections and to launch an aggressive election campaign.

As the center of attention shifts to Hyderabad, Telangana state politics will revolve around this hub. Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi have already made visits to Telangana, focusing on party strengthening through recruitment. An upcoming Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on September 16 and 17.

The final day of the CWC meeting, September 17, coincides with the day Hyderabad State merged with India. During the celebrations, Sonia Gandhi will be the chief guest and is expected to address the people.

It is anticipated that she will speak about the purpose behind the formation of Telangana, the sacrifices that led to the state’s creation, and the role Congress played in this process. Given Sonia’s pivotal role in the formation of Telangana, her speech is likely to criticize KCR’s position on this occasion.

Simultaneously, the Congress Party in Telangana is actively promoting the notion of a truce between BRS and BJP. They suggest that BRS might indirectly contribute to BJP’s victory in the assembly elections, while BRS could support BJP’s success on the national level through a secret agreement between the two parties.

On September 17, it is possible that Congress leaders will address the issue of a purported secret agreement between BJP and BRS as part of their agenda.
