Constitutional Crisis Brewing in Telangana?

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao’s last public appearance was on June 28th. The Chief Minister has camped at his Erravalli Farm House when the Corona fear is gripping the Capital City. The state had recorded over 25,000 cases already with a huge majority of them in Hyderabad.

From the last few days, anti-Government hashtags were trending on Twitter criticizing the Government’s lackadaisical attitude. But nothing could move those in power. Meanwhile, Telangana Governor Tamilisai has taken stock of the situation and called for a review meeting.

The Chief Secretary and Principal Health Secretary were asked to come to Raj Bhavan but they have skipped the meeting citing prior appointments. On the other side, the Governor is also meeting the representatives of Private hospitals to address issues like shortage of beds and high bills.

Governor interfering in the administration and the bureaucracy defying the Governor orders, it looks like Telangana is heading towards a Constitutional crisis. Whatever happens, Citizens are welcoming the Governor’s intervention and are hoping that it will bring a positive change.
