CRDA had appealed companies to use their corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds to achieve overall economic and social development in Amaravati. As per the norms of Companies Act, all firms, including public sector undertakings (PSUs) that make an annual turnover of above Rs 5 crore, should spend 2 per cent of their net profit on CSR.
All those who come forward for this initiative will be treated as valued partners in capital construction. The government and CRDA will very soon come up with elaborate guidelines for this scheme. CRDA sources say several big companies are evincing interest in this scheme and will employ the people directly after the skill training.
