Criminal Cases on Repeat Eve-teasers

Hyderabad Police and the recently appointed SHE teams are effectively cracking whip on Eve teasers troubling the women in the city. Till now, the Police are leaving the minors with counselling and in some cases imprisoning culprits for 2-3 days. However it is said that the Police have decided to act strict on repeat Eve-teasers.

They say that Eve teasers arrested for the second time will be booked under relevant sections of The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013. The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, which was brought into force after the 2012 December Delhi gang rape will award severe punishment to the Eve-teasers.

About 100 SHE teams are active in the city and around 113 persons have been caught for eve-teasing.There is a very positive response from all quarters for the SHE teams and so the Police are taking Eve Teasing seriously. So far no repeat offender has been arrested.
