Crucial Phase of Polavaram Project Construction Begins!

Polavaram Project had taken the first step in the crucial phase of its construction. The Spillway Concrete works of the project began a little while ago. The foundation for the main dam will begin from January. The state government is planning to complete crucial phases of the project by 2018.

The state government is also planning to construct a coffer dam temporarily and store some water by 2018. The entire work is divided into 25 small parts and will be completed in time. The entire progress of the project will be added and displayed in CM Dash Board.

Polavaram Multi-Purpose Irrigation Project comes with a total capacity of 194 TMC which will irrigate about Five Lakh Acres over Two Crops Every year. The Project will also generate 960MW of Hydel Power which is the cheapest available power in the market right now. Hence the project is said to be very beneficial for the state and is treated as the ‘Life Line’.
