Dance bars in Mumbai get legal permission

In a shocking revelation, the Supreme court today gave a verdict that it is better to dance in Dance Bar rather than begging on the streets of Mumbai. This observation came at a time when the Maharastra government was taking a lot of time to grant licenses to several dance bars in the city.

If one can notice, the supreme court had given permission to the government of Maharastra to revoke the ban on these dance bars. Inspite of this order from the court, the government is yet to grant permission to some leading dance bars in the city and has suspended hundreds of dance bars from 2005.

A total of 139 bars and hotels in Mumbai have applied for licenses and none of them have got clearance. The supreme court in Mumbai today ordered the state government to look into this case immediately and issue licenses to many bars once their conditions are met according to the government rules.
