Devineni Nehru in to BJP!

If the buzz in the political circles of Krishna district is to be believed, veteran Congress politician, Devineni Nehru is all set join Bharatiya Janata Party. Devineni Nehru was mostly silent since the recent election defeat. He contested for Vijayawada East from Congress in the election. We are said that he will be joining BJP on 29th of this month in the presence of BJP President Amit Shah when he comes to AP for his first ever tour.

Nehru is a faction hero of the 1980s in Vijayawada. He was one of the first MLAs of NTR’s Telugu Desam and was prime accused in the murder of Congress legislator, Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Rao which was a sensation back then. During the Chandrababu Naidu’s coup, Nehru stood alongside NTR and subsequently joined the Congress following the death of NTR.

Nehru’s entry in to BJP may bring in a shot in the arm of the saffron party in Krishna district as he hails from the dominant Kamma community which has a very significant say in the district politics.
