Devotees’ Footsteps Set to Power TTD?

Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam is mooting a new technology in which energy pedals will be installed at the shrine. These pedals which get pressed when devotees walk on them, then revert to their original positions immediately.

Walking energy will be converted into electricity, which will be used to power the temple’s bulbs and fans. TTD records the highest footfalls than any other Hindu Temple in the World on any given day and so this technology will be a big success, TTD feels.

Very soon the famous Sai Baba shrine in Ahmednagar will have it. TTD will take a call after observing the success or failure of the model there. Already most of the Energy needs of TTD are obtained from Clean Energy like Wind and Hydro.
