Dharna Chowk Goof up – a Lesson That High-Headedness Will Not Work

The Save Dharna Chowk Agitation taken up by Opposition Parties should have been a simple affair if not for Telangana government being adamant to foil it. While the parties are agitating against the shift, Telangana government tried to portray it as a demand.

While it has found no takers in the locals, the government has made CI Sridevi, reportedly from the Lake police station, Tank Bund sit in the crowd accompanied by a group of women constables in civilian clothes, all from Warangal.

They were carrying placards demanding that the Dharna Chowk be shifted. Some media houses have got it live and caused a massive embarrassment to the ruling party. Many say it is a shame that a party which came to power with agitations is fearing such agitations and is trying to suppress them with cheap tactics like this. Its time that the government should listen to the Opposition at least in some cases.
