Did YSR Congress Govt Admit Political Vendetta in the Court?

According to a report in Times of India this morning, The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), which had earlier stayed the suspension of India Revenue Service (IRS) officer Jasti Krishna Kishore, flayed Andhra Pradesh Government for Political Vendetta. “How can a deputy collector rank official lodge a complaint against a special secretary-level officer? What will happen if an MRO lodges a complaint against the Chief Secretary?’’ it questioned.

The CAT also went to warn “Remember that you won’t be in power forever. This kind of act will drive you into problems”. The response to this scathing remark of the CAT by the Government Counsel is even more stunning. “That applies to them (TDP) as well. How vindictive were they? The amount of political vendetta they displayed was there for everyone to see. They literally hounded us,” State Counsel P Govind Reddy said.

Krishna Kishore’s counsel Neeraj Malhotra reacted by saying that this argument clearly shows it is an act of vengeance. Krishna Kishore’s Lawyer alleged that the Government is doing that because the officer was being hounded because he was the supervising officer in the Income Tax department when Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s Jagathi Publications was assessed some years ago.

The CAT also asked the government to pay the salary arrears due to Kishore within two weeks and extended the interim stay on the suspension of the officer till the end of January
