Didi strikes a double century in Bengal

West Bengal electorate had given a decisive mandate for Mamatha Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress. Left parties and Congress have forged an alliance and went all out to dethrone Mamatha. But at the end, Didi proved to be iron lady, cruising towards 200+ seats in the 294 elections.

The flyover collapse incident that happened just before the elections, was predicted to have negative effect on Mamatha but it proved to be totally insignificant at the end. BJP which hoped to get significant numbers in the state had to settle for single digit. Lack of no credible CM face and no grip on local issues worked counter productive for BJP.
