Digitised traffic signals -Pilot project for Vijayawada

As part of controlling the growing traffic in Vijayawada city, Andhra Pradesh government has initiated a pilot project called Digitised traffic signals. Once the Digitised traffic signals are in place residents of the city no longer need to waste their time at traffic signals.

Digitised traffic signals will automatically collect the real time traffic information across the city junctions and provide directions to each side accordingly.

The sensors installed at multiple junctions will update the traffic stats at the control room. This will enable traffic department to control the city traffic signals with their remote. Government has signed an agreement with two private companies to implement this. The first is as of now being introduced at Veterinary Junction on Bandar Road.
