Dissolution of AP Assembly by October??

The possibility of the dissolution of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly by October and the subsequent early elections has been a topic of discussion in state politics. It is true that assembly elections will be held in several states, including Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, and Telangana, either by the end of this year or in the near future.

The process has already been completed in Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, and Karnataka, resulting in the formation of new governments in those states.

In Andhra Pradesh, there are speculations and a campaign suggesting the likelihood of early elections. There are expectations that the ruling YSR Congress party, led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, may consider going for by-elections and dissolve the Assembly ahead of schedule.

It is believed that YS Jagan sees early elections as a means to counter the Telugu Desam Party, and Chandrababu Naidu’s decision to announce the election manifesto early is considered a contributing factor to this perspective. Reports suggest that YS Jagan discussed this matter with the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during his recent visit to Delhi. Currently, YS Jagan maintains good relations with the central government.

It is worth noting that the central government, under BJP leadership, has released the pending revenue deficit of 10,000 crore rupees that accumulated during the previous Telugu Desam government’s tenure. This financial support indicates the central government’s assistance to Andhra Pradesh during its financial crisis.

However, it is important to emphasize that the decision to dissolve the Assembly and hold early elections rests with the Chief Minister and the ruling party. Until an official announcement is made, the timing of the Assembly dissolution and subsequent elections remains speculative.
