DK Aruna’s daughter in Mining Scam!

Former Minister DK Aruna’s daughter Snigdha Reddy entangled herself in a mining scam after it is alleged that she misused her one hectare mining lease and illegally quarried six lakh cubic metres of rough stone and road metal in several hectares in Dharoor mandal of Mahabubnagar district. It is also alleged that she sold away the whole material without obtaining a single dispatch permit from 2008 till now.

The Telangana state mines and geology department told the Hyderabad high court that using her mother’s influence Snigdha Reddy mined more than 20 hectares in Mannapur and Palcherla villages while she held a lease of just one hectare.

The director of mines has imposed a fee-cum-penalty of Rs 32 crore on Snigdha for all her actions which were contrary to the AP Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1966. The high court posted the case to next week. On the other side, Congress party alleges that this is harassment actions of TRS government on Aruna for her ‘shut up’ remarks in Assembly last week.
