Don’t Get Confused, This Is Not a Movie Set!

While most of the country is struggling with the after-effects of the withdrawal of currency notes of Rs. 500 and 1000, the case is different with political leaders and owners of big businesses. Just this Sunday itself, Kerala witnessed a grand wedding between Congress leader Adoor Prakash’s son with a liquor baron Biju Ramesh’s daughter even as bribery allegation continue to put a damper on the celebrations.

Despite this, the wedding has been an ostentatious event with invitations given to 20,000 guests and held at a venue with an eight-acre expanse that has been prepared like a film set. The mandap itself has been made to resemble the Akshardham Temple, while the venue and entrance are modeled after the Mysore Palace.

As for the money needed for such a large scale event, Ramesh has clarified that the money from several of his businesses was not been deposited in the banks and had instead been retained for the wedding.
