Hyderabad’s Double Shock for Food Lovers

Two significant incidents have recently shaken the food lovers community in Hyderabad.

First, the owner of Varalakshmi Tiffins, Prabhakar Reddy, and his associate Venkata Shiva Sai Kumar, along with a consumer-peddler named Anuradha, were arrested for smuggling illegal drugs like cocaine and MDMA from Goa to Hyderabad. The police seized Rs 14 lakh worth of drugs, cash, cars, and phones.

In a separate incident, Meridian Restaurant in Punjagutta faced temporary closure following the alleged beating death of a customer during an argument over ‘raita.’

Both Meridian and Varalakshmi Tiffins were beloved eateries in Hyderabad. Meridian was known for its consistent and authentic mutton biryani, while Varalakshmi Tiffins in DLF, Gachibowli, was renowned for its Ghee Karam Podi Idlis and freshly made Karam Dosas.

Both places are among the most favorite eating spots for Hyderabadis. These unfortunate events have left the food-loving community in Hyderabad deeply saddened, earning the label of a “DOUBLE HEARTBREAK.”
