The Telugu States Pip Gujarat

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have piped Gujarat to lead the country in e-transactions post demonetisation. Both the states together have clocked 39 crore e-transactions till date post-November 9th, 2016 when the Demonetization was announced.

Telangana recorded 20 crores in e-transactions during the period while AP clocked 19.16 Crores. Even though Gujarat recorded the highest e-transactions in the country at 20,13,09,614, it was put in the third place, since its population is more than that of the Telugu states.

Both the states have pressed for e-transactions and have made all the payments to beneficiaries of welfare schemes online. Even the public distribution system is also being made cashless with the introduction of swiping machines.
