Earth Quake Tremors in Andhra Pradesh

An Earth Quake of magnitude 7.5 on Richter scale with epicenter at Nepal had sent tremors across India too. Tremors were felt in several parts of country including Delhi. The tremors were even felt in some places of Andhra Pradesh – Gollapudi in Krishna district, Kakinada, Amalapuram and Rajahmundry in East Godavari, Narasannapeta rural and Ullaram in Srikakulam.

As per the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicentre of the quake was Lamjung in Nepal. and this happened just before the noon. The tremors in Delhi were felt for over a minute but they are confined to just few seconds in Andhra Pradesh. People ran hither and tither out of their houses in fear. There were no causalities or property damage reported in India.

However the causalities in Nepal could be high as the Earth Quake hit pretty mountainous areas which will be also detrimental for carrying out rescue operations. Government sources informed people that the Earth Quake can not cause any damage in India as the Epicenter is far away. The at most it can do is to make things fall in the houses due to the tremors.
