Eighth wicket down for YSR Congress

The main opposition party in Andhra Pradesh is being suffocated by back to back defections. This morning Pathapatnam MLA Venkataramana announced quitting the party, even before the party recovered from the shock, here is one more. Kodumuru MLA Mani Gandhi will be joining TDP tomorrow.

Mani Gandhi becomes the third YSR Congress MLA from Kurnool district to leave the party after Bhuma Nagi Reddy and Akhila Priya. The party is shocked with this development as Kurnool district is the stronghold of it. The talks of more YSR Congress joining TDP ahead of the budget session will give sleepless nights to Jagan.

Mani Gandhi’s exit will take YSR Congress number below 60. There is buzz that TDP is planning to bring down YSR Congress number further down so that it will lose the lone Rajya Sabha seat it is entitled to get in couple of months. Four Rajya Sabha seats from AP will fall vacant.
