But her name did not figure in the list of candidates announced by KCR so far indicating that she will contest from Nizamabad Parliament itself.
But now, the election has become tough for the KCR’s daughter.
The other day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a key announcement at the Palamuru meeting.
He announced Turmeric Board for Telangana which is a long-standing demand for the farmers of Nizamabad.
The board will come as a shot in the arm for turmeric growers as it helps in the promotion, processing, marketing, and export of turmeric.
Nizamabad is one of the largest turmeric-producing districts in Telangana and the Nizamabad Agricultural Market Yard is one of the major turmeric markets in the State. Farmers launched a movement demanding the Board before 2006 and it has been a major demand since then. Later it became an election issue as well.
Though officially turmeric is grown on more than 60,000 acres in the district, the area of its cultivation is much larger unofficially. The Turmeric farmers are a very important chunk of voters there.
And with their demand met, it will be a shot in the arm for Dharmapuri Arvind making the election tough for Kavitha.
