Emirates in Talks for First Intl Flight From Gannavaram

Emirates Airlines is the first operator to have initiated a dialogue regarding bilateral traffic rights with the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Gannavaram Airport authorities are revamping the old terminal building to accommodate international operations.

If everything goes as per the plan, the first International flight will take off from Gannavaram from the first week of September. Buzz is that Emirates is planning a bi-weekly service to Dubai from the Airport. Since Dubai connects to all countries like North America, Canada, Australia and others, this service will be very useful.

Besides Gannavaram, Tirupati Airport is also accorded International Status. This status for both the airports has come into force from 1st of this month. Airports in Andhra Pradesh have got huge demand since the state bifurcation. Passenger Footfalls have also increased by several folds.
