Empty coffers ridicule KTR’s tall promises!

Telangana Rashtra Samiti cruised to historic 99 divisions victory in the recent GHMC elections. KTR came up several promises to the city and those promises reportedly led TRS to a thumping victory.

Telangana CM KCR also gifted his heir with an additional charge of municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD). However the road is far from being smooth to KTR as government coffers are nearly empty.

Experts say TRS’ assurances will cost the whopping more than 1 lakh crore to the state exchequer. The state just managed to collect 22,918.8 crore by the end of January recording 12 per cent deficit in terms of sales tax collection. The government expected to raise Rs 13,500 crore through sale of land, it could garner just Rs 500 crore.
