Entire Police station staff suspended over a women’s death

Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahinder Reddy has suspended the entire senior staff of Asifnagar Police Station. The Police arrested a woman under the accusation of selling stolen goods in the locality.

She was arrested and reportedly fainted during the interrogation. She was shifted to the local government hospital but was dead while being treated. The woman, Padma was arrested after CCTV footage at private hospital revealed that she was in to stealing handbags and valuable of patients and their relatives.

Commissioner suspended them to ensure fair inquiry. Mahinder Reddy is of the opinion that irrespective of the crime, the police should have showed more sensitivity to the woman who complained of ill-health and stress.
