‘If the Lady Calls You Midnight, It’s the Last Call for You’

In recent times, instant messaging application WhatsApp has become a medium of spreading terror. Texts like “Please read the message carefully, It’s not a joke. In-between 12.00am to 3.00am don’t pick the phone call from the number- 777888999” are being forwarded claiming that if you do pick up the call, your cell phone might blast.

With people sharing these messages to all their contacts and groups, almost everyone has already seen it and probably believes it. But this is nothing to worry about; it is all just a hoax. These messages are only trying to exploit people’s fears, especially after the recent Ransomware virus attack.

The message, which goes on to say that “a lady will speak to the call receiver and say that it’s the last call for you”, is not limited to being shared on WhatsApp; social media sites like Facebook are also privy to such hoaxes. However, people must be made aware that there are no valid phone numbers having just nine digits; we advise you to not believe anything without any concrete proof.
