Finally GHMC Finds Time For Roads Repair

GHMC finally found time to repair the badly battered roads in Hyderabad City. It is estimated that some 180 Km of roads throughout Greater Hyderabad will be repaired in this drive and it will cost about 75 Crore for the corporation exchequer. For the first time, officers from GHMC were given a training session providing important details on the quality of roads and construction.

GHMC engineers say it will not be pothole filling and will be more of roads restoration now. Due to the heavy rains in the last month, a majority of roads in the core area have been damaged and these roads will have to be restored. As a result of these works, traffic in some places had to be diverted. To avoid inconvenience to normal public, over 90 percent of the work will be carried out in the night hours.

The Roads Restoration will be mainly in Panjagutta, Khairatabad, Jubilee check post to Madhapur, Yousufguda and in the IT corridor. GHMC field engineers will supervise the quality and after the execution, a third party quality checking will also be done. Commuters will be ready to take up the pain provided that the repair works are not temporary eyewash.
