First National Survey Brings Smiles on Naidu’s Face

For some reason, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the favourite of the National Media. Ever since his political entry, National Media always projected YSR Congress as Victor in any elections. But we all know what happened in 2014 elections but then similar surveys are coming in the run-up to Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections as well.

But then, one National Survey brought a smile on Naidu‘s face albeit indirectly. According to News18‘s Firstpost Trust Survey, 52.8% of the survey respondents preferred Narendra Modi as the next Prime Minister of India while just only 26.9% preferred Congress President Rahul Gandhi as the next PM.

Surprisingly, in Andhra Pradesh, 68.8% of the Respondents preferred Rahul Gandhi to be the next Prime Minister while just 14.5% preferred Narendra Modi. This means that TDP is largely successful in taking to the people that the Central Government has not helped the state as much as it should.

The election agenda seems to be the denying of Special Status, in such a case, the anti-BJP stance may indeed help Chandrababu Naidu. Also, a large percentage of people wanting Rahul Gandhi to become the next Prime Minister of India will mean that people are not so averse to Congress which will be a relief to Chandrababu who is hobnobbing with Congress Party in the recent times.
