Five Deputy Chief Ministers for Jagan Mohan Reddy?

If a report in TV9 is to be believed, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to have Five Deputy Chief Ministers in his cabinet. To maintain a social balance, the Chief Minister is keen on making one from SC, ST, BC, Minority, and Kapu communities as the Deputy Chief Ministers.

However, there is a criticism that so many Deputy Chief Ministers will only dilute the value of that post and they will only remain on Paper. In the previous TDP Government, Chandrababu Naidu used to have Two Deputy Chief Ministers – one from the Kapu Community and the other from Backward Class.

There is no constitutional definition for Deputy Chief Minister and is only a nominal political adjustment. Jagan is expanding his cabinet tomorrow. He is likely to give 12 out of the 25 Cabinet Berths to SC, ST, BC, Minority, and Kapu communities The Governor will administer oath by them tomorrow.

Jagan will reshuffle his cabinet after Two and Half years to accommodate more leaders in his team.
