Free WiFi from today in Hyderabad!

The Prestigious WiFi scheme of the Telangana government began today in Hyderabad. As a pilot project, the fre WiFi is available near Tankbund, Lumbini Park and Necklace road in the radius of 10 Kilometers. About 1800-2500 people can use this service at a time.

The first 30 minutes usage will be free and later it will be chargeable. BSNL and QuadGen Wireless Solutions are together offering this service where the speeds will vary between 2MBPS to 20MBPS. IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao will be starting this service today evening.

Government is claiming that it has taken all the measures for data security and prevention of abuse. In this pilot project state, the service providers will study the feasibility, costs involved and security measures to be taken under this scheme. And then the free WiFi will be extended to all parts of the city phase by phase.
