Fresh row between L&T and Telangana government!

Looks like the stalemate between Telangana government and Hyderabad Metro Project Concessionaire, Larsen and Toubro is not going to end any soon. This is regarding the alignment change in Sultan Bazaar road. L&T is not favourable in this change as it will be losing two stations with the new alignment resulting in revenue loss on both, traffic and commercial development fronts.

It is estimated that L&T will be at least demanding around 2000 Crore as compensation. Telangana government is ready to give the company some land in lieu of the damage to them but L&T is not in favour of taking land due to the downturn in the real estate market.

However Telangana government is not in favour of monetary compensation. The original alignment results in demolition of over 300 shops in the market area, while the alignment proposed by the CM will see at least 125 shops demolished and so the traders are not in favour of both the alignments.
