Ganesh Nimmajjan, T govt’s claims turn hollow

The Telangana government’s claims of alternative arrangements for Ganesh Nimajjanam turned to be hollow. Hussainsagar will continue to the center for Ganesh Nijjanam for this year too. Last year, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar announced the plans of creating Vinayakasagar at Indira Park to save Hussainsagar from heavy pollution.

Vinayaka Chaviti is just a month away and the alternative arrangements are yet to begin. Experts reportedly turned down the proposal of the government as they said it is not feasible to have a pond deep enough to enable idol immersion in Indira Park.

Earlier the government informed the high court that it will hold meeting with Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi and representatives of all political parties seeking their cooperation in reducing the height of Ganesha idols. But this time, no such meeting has been called till now and already the idols are being prepared.
