The Andhra Pradesh government is planning the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu on the scale of the Kumbh Mela, said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He stated that the mega religious event will be organised in a grand and systematic manner.
The recent Kumbh Mela witnessed massive participation, including large numbers of Telugu devotees. Many praised the Uttar Pradesh government for its large-scale planning and execution.
Taking inspiration from that model, the Chandrababu-led government aims to replicate similar arrangements for Godavari Pushkaralu. The event is scheduled to take place from June 26 to July 7.
Officials estimate that nearly 10 crore devotees may attend the Pushkaralu. To accommodate them, 373 ghats will be prepared across six districts through which the Godavari flows.
The model ghat will be developed in Rajahmundry. Extensive planning has already begun to ensure smooth arrangements.
The government has started preparing tent cities and home stays to provide accommodation for devotees. Special focus is being placed on safety, hygiene, and accessibility.
To manage massive crowds, AI-driven crowd management systems will be deployed. CM Chandrababu announced this during a recent review meeting.
There has been growing enthusiasm among devotees to attend large religious events despite heavy crowds. Keeping this trend in mind, the government plans to leverage technology to prevent accidents.
The aim is to make Godavari Pushkaralu a safe and memorable spiritual experience. Officials say the event will reflect the state’s organisational capability and commitment to devotees.
