Going in Helicopters Saves Money: Cong MLC

Congress MLC Addanki Dayakar backed the usage of helicopters by ministers in Telangana Congress government. He said using an helicopter was cost-effective. Dayakar said think of the cost of three convoys if three ministers were to go.

Initially, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy was alleged to have used helicopters competing with CM Revanth Reddy. Now, it has become a Telangana Congress problem. The helicopter mishap at Nizamabad is not stopping the ministers of Revanth Reddy government from using helicopters.

Despite talk among political circles and public that they are misusing government funds, there appears to be no stopping these leaders.

Leading the group are Nalgonda ministers who are using the helicopters for even routine visits. In fact, they have started using helicopters on a daily basis even for a distance of 100 to 200 kilometers, which can be covered by road.

The situation is such that the ministers are taking more helicopter rides than the CM. In the past, when there were floods in combined Khammam district, the same ministers skipped a visit showing non-availability of helicopters as a reason.

Now it is being said helicopters are cost-effective.
