Gorantla Arrest, Plan to Please Jagan?

Ex MP got himself arrested in a rather strange turn of events. ITDP’s Chebrolu Kiran made objectionable comments on YS Bharathi, wife of YS Jagan.

AP CM and TDP head already got Kiran suspended from the party and even got him arrested. When the police were taking Kiran from Mangalagiri to Guntur SP’s office, Gorantla appeared suddenly.

Gorantla shouted I won’t leave you… I will see your end and chased Kiran’s vehicle till SP’s office. He created quite a scene right in the presence of police officials.

For disrupting their work, the police arrested Gorantla on the road. Being in the police department in the past, Gorantla knows the consequences of such an act.

Despite this, he indulged in such an act. The political circles are abuzz with talk that there is a strong reason behind Gorantla’s act.

Before coming into politics, Gorantla was an inspector in Kadiri. He was also the secretary of Anantapur district police welfare organisation. At that time, he held a press meet and gave warning to then Anantapur MP JC Diwaker Reddy after a feud. He said if any one meddles with police while performing their duties, he would slit his tongue.

This made Gorantla quite popular. In 2019, Gorantla voluntarily quit the police force and contested as Hindupur MP and won. After becoming an MP, he was more interested in disputes. Later, he was involved in sending nude videos case.

Following this, Jagan totally ignored him. He did not give Gorantla any ticket and neither did he make him in-charge of any constituency following elections. This made Gorantla’s career a huge question mark.

It is said that Gorantla is trying hard to get responsibility of either Kurnool or Anantapur from Jagan. The present chasing act is also part of his plan to attract Jagan’s attention, say YSRCP insiders.
