Govt finally to bite Land Acquistion Bullet

On Monday night, Andhra Pradesh government released the Final Master Plan of Amaravathi in to the public domain. The government had proposed major changes to this plan when compared to the earlier draft plan. According to the earlier plan, at least 3600 houses have to be razed, the government made changes to bring down the number to 360 now.

Changes were also made to make sure the farmers who gave their lands for core capital, get the developed plots as near as possible. They will be getting their plots in Seed Capital itself. 99% of the objections over draft Master Plan are related to roads and the government solved about 90% of them.

On the other side, Land Acquisition in the Capital Villages will begin from 28th of this month. Majority of the farmers have participated in the land pooling and even in the left over lands, the government is only taking those lands which are absolutely necessary and are coming in the way of the Master Plan.
