GST Proves Burden for Common Man

Modi Sarkar has brought GST to increase the Tax Net so that more money will be available to the government to spend for the welfare of the poor and middle class. But then, GST which came into effect the other day has proved to be a burden on them.

Some of the business establishments which did not pay taxes until date have come into the Tax net but they are still not keen on paying the taxes. They are passing the tax burden onto the common people. For an instance, the price of a commodity which is 100 till June 30th is increased to 118 under GST.

That effectively means that businesses are not ready to lose their margins for GST and are pushing the burden of GST on the end customers. As a result, prices of several commodities have increased from July 1st. Small Business establishments say that they have to maintain a computer and an operator to be compliant with GST.

This will cost them at least 10000 Per month which they are keen on recovering from the end user itself. As of now, GST has only brought burden onto the common man. It has to be seen if the long-term benefits will overweigh them.
