GST to Burden 20000 Crore to Telangana

Telangana Government is worried about the burden of GST over the state exchequer which will be to the tune of 20000 Crore. The state government’s flagship programs like Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, irrigation projects and the 2BHK housing scheme are coming under the GST net now.

The state government is making last minute attempts to secure GST exemption or reduction for these prestigious projects. Telangana CM KCR who is in Delhi would take up these issues with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Jaitley.

Telangana Government is of the opinion that bringing government projects that were being taken up for the larger benefit of the people under GST net is not fair. GST which is deemed as the country’s biggest reform since Independence will roll out from July 1st.
