Gudlavalleru College Issue: Will AP Politics Ever Mature?

An Engineering College in Gudlavalleru of Andhra Pradesh hogged headlines on Friday. There were reports that a hidden camera was planted in Girls Hostel and there were around 300 videos of Girls.

The accused are two boys of the same college and the allegations are that they planted the camera blackmailing a girl. The accused were arrested and their electronic devices were confiscated. But then, the Police says neither the hidden camera nor any videos were found so far.

This is the story happening right now. The truth is yet to be verified.

Meanwhile, the issue highlights the real problem of Andhra Pradesh Politics. As soon as the issue surfaced, YSR Congress Social Media started a Propaganda that some TDP leader‘s daughter is involved and so there is pressure on the officials.

And then as a retaliation, a video was released. The video has the accused mocking TDP‘s Manifesto before the Election. So that says the boy may belong to YSR Congress.

Why does an issue like this is to be linked with Politics in the first place? It is the issue that happened in a college and if it is real, future of 100s of Girls is involved.

Why do Political Parties get involved and smear Political Colour onto everything? Why not handle such issues with maturity?

YSR Congress is even circulating some photographs of a Girl saying her father is a TDP leader. There is no head and tail to the rumour mongering but can potentially destroy a girl‘s character and future.

This issue in particular is of students‘. Political Parties should exercise a bit of maturity and caution in dragging them into Politics.
