Telangana government which usually sings praises of Nizams contribution to Hyderabad City and Telangana was in due for a big shock. Days after Chief Minister rolled out red carpet to Princess Esra Birgin, the wife of VIII Nizam Prince Mukarram Jah, the heirs of Nizams have thrown a notice seeking compensation for the Nizam properties acquired by the State government during 1955-56. The Nizam Family Welfare Association in the notice stated that the Government of India entered into an agreement with the Nizam for surrender of the territories ruled by him in 1950.
The government then accepted 23,253 acres of land as private properties of Nizam. Out of this the state has purchased 15,964 acres for sale consideration of Rs.4 lakh but the amount was not paid. Now the heirs of Nizams are claiming state government to pay for the 15964 acres at current market price. If will be certainly a rude shock for the Telangana government.
